Notes:
TPS (Purl Stitch)
Tps dec. (Purl decrease)- Pull yarn to front of work, insert hook under the next two vert. bars together. Yarn over and pull up a loop (as in a Tps while joining two bars together)

I originally seen this stitch done by Mary Greaney on a free baby blanket pattern she shared via Ravelry here.

Instructions:
To begin: Chain in multiples of two to length desired.

Foundation:
Row one forward: Insert hook into first chain space from hook. Yarn over and pull up a loop. * insert into next, yarn over and pull up a loop. Repeat from * keeping all loops on hook. Row one return: Yarn over and pull back through one loop. * Yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * until one loop remains on hook.

Stitch:
Row two forward: Skip first vert. bar. * Tps dec. in next. Pull yarn to front, yarn over twice, going backwards (over and back to front), Tps dec. in next. (there should be 4 loops on your hook at this point.) Repeat from * to last. Pull up a loop from last. Row two return: Yarn over and pull back through one loop. * Yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * until one loop remains on hook.

Row three forward: Tps in first * Tps dec. in next (using one strand from each Tps dec. of previous row). Pull yarn to front, yarn over twice, going backwards (over and back to front), Tps dec. in next. Repeat from * to last two. Tps in next, Pull up a loop from last. Row three return: Yarn over and pull back through one loop. * Yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * until one loop remains on hook.

Repeat row two and three for pattern.
