⇐ Back to Relief Stitches

This sample is done all in crossed knit stitches,
without any variation stitches in-between
The Crossed Knit Stitch when done together in a column creates a small cable. This can also be used by itself or in groups to create texture in any piece. To learn how to make this stitch follow the directions below...

To begin: Chain any number to length desired.
Foundation: Row one forward: Insert hook into first chain space from hook. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Keeping loop on hook * insert into next, yarn over and pull up a loop. Repeat from * keeping all loops on hook. Row one return: Yarn over and pull back through one loop. * Yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * until one loop remains on hook.

This sample was done with a Simple Stitch placed
in-between each Crossed Knit 'column.'

Stitch: Row two forward: * Skip next stitch, Insert hook in next between the two vertical bars, from front to back through the fabric. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Insert through the vertical bars of skipped stitch and pull up a loop. Repeat from * to last. Pull up a loop from last.
