Lacy Simple Stitch

⇐ Back to Lace Stitches
This pattern is a variation of the seed stitch. It adds an open-space between each stitch, and this combined with the Tss that pulls the work upwards, really opens it up and shows the threads that form the fabric all the way to the back.

Instructions:
To begin: Chain in multiples of two to desired length.

Foundation:
Row one forward: Insert hook into first chain space from hook. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Keeping loop on hook * insert into next, yarn over and pull up a loop. Repeat from * keeping all loops on hook. Row one return: Yarn over and pull back through one loop. * Yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * until one loop remains on hook.

Stitch:
Row two forward: Chain 1. * Skip next, insert hook under next and pull up a loop (as in a Tss), chain 1. Repeat from * to end, keeping all loops on hook. Row two return: Yarn over and pull back through one loop. * Chain one, yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * until one loop remains on hook.

Repeat row two for pattern.
