Tunisian Weave (Tfps/Tbps)

This is a combination of the Tunisian Front Post and Back Post Stitches. They are done oppositely throughout the rows and this creates a dense basket-weave pattern. The image above is the basic weave; the two images below show the weave done with Tdc (double crochet) stitches around the post in the same manner. Follow the directions below to learn the basics (as shown above).

Instructions
To begin: Chain in multiples of two to desired length.

Foundation: Row one forward: Insert hook in next chain space and pull up a loop. * Insert hook into next, yarn over and pull up a loop. Repeat from * keeping all chains on hook. Row one return: Yarn over and pull back through one loop. * Yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * until one loop remains on hook.

Stitch:
Row two forward: * Insert hook from front to back to front, moving around both vertical threads of next, yarn over and pull up a loop (Tfps). Insert hook from back to front to back, moving around both vertical threads of next, yarn over and pull up a loop (Tbps). Repeat from * to end. Row two return: Yarn over and pull back through one loop. * Yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * until one loop remains on hook.

Row three forward: * Insert hook from back to front to back, moving around both vertical threads of next, yarn over and pull up a loop (Tbps). Insert hook from front to back to front, moving around both vertical threads of next, yarn over and pull up a loop (Tfps). Repeat from * to end. Row three return: Yarn over and pull back through one loop. * Yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from * until one loop remains on hook.

Repeat rows two & three for pattern.
